To cut or not to cut?

No, i'm not talking about circumcision. This post a bit Ah Lianish one, okay.

I'm at that stage when i'm still deciding whether to crop my hair or keep it long again.

I know, you may be thinking. This woman ah, so fickle minded ah. Cannot even decide on such trivial matters. Want to cut, go cut lah. Why ponder so long? It's only hair what, why think so much? Not like it wont grow long again after you've cut it.

See, i know what you all are thinking.

I ran some hair relaxer through my hair yesterday to make the growing stage more bearable. Now, my fringe is so long it covers half my face. But not long enough so that i can pull it back behind my ears. The back is like hanging halfway down my neck, neither long nor short, making a nuisance of itself as it grows. How to go out and meet people? You tell me... you tell me.

The weather is not of much help either. It either turns it frizzy or i feel so darn hot with hair sticking to my neck.

If only i can tie it up.... wait long long.

If only i can clip it back.... eh, schoolgirl meh.

Put hairband also cannot coz too short.

So, you say i'm crazy or not? I cannot think of any adjectives to describe myself now.

You see, i cut my long hair of 7yrs last March. You can call that the 7 yrs itch lah if you like. My hair is the type that everyone says its impossible to keep long one.... the very frizzy one leh. So, i kept it long to proof it to myself that it can be done. All the way down my back... There, like the tv shampoo ads girls. Like Camellia in Pantene leh. I kept it one length, poker straight and shiny.

Trust me. Can be done one. Have about 6 - 8 hrs of patience enduring those ion perms. Put up with the hairdresser's incessant chatter and gossips, and you'll walk out of the salon looking like a million bucks. Can die for, man.

The best satisfaction one can derive from such hair is to tie it up high enough into a pony-tail; then smack it into the face of that biatch who's standing right behind you at the ticket counter nagging non-stop at her bf/husband/lover/wateva. Mind you, it takes great practise to fling your hair gracefully yet smack it tightly right across her face to shut her up for good.

Tip 101: Must remember to turn around innocently and apologise nicely for that action, you know, if not...... everyone no need to buy tickets already. Can watch free show at the ticket counter liao. Two mad woman clawing and scratching each other's eyes/hair/clothes off.

See, we are educated people mah. Must say sorry one.

But this wont work much now coz almost everyone i know no longer go to the movies. They'd rather stay home and watch Uncle Ho's stuffs. But then hoh, you all still line up at cashier counters one mah.

So, help me. Anyone going through this phase right now? You see ah, my friends. I'm so free that i have to contemplate on things like these. So unfair hoh.

And no. I'm not putting up my pic for you all to see now. Old one also cannot. I'm not falling for that trap. Wait till it's long and poker straight again. Then, i promise.... on my girl guide's honor; to put my celebrity mugshot up.

Till then, help me.............

never ask for third party's opinion as it will make your decision making even worse. U were thinking of standing, one advises u to sit, whilst another says u should squat. who should u listen to?

hey samm, take the cut if u feel like going for a change. Afterall, hair can always grow back :) Just be sure you don't regret your decision :P As for me, shorthair will never work as it means more maintenance and messier for me. I only go to the hair saloon like once a year just for a trim.

Get a mohawk, that never fails!

g - i truly agree that long hair is easier to maintain. just tie it up on bad hair days.

dennis - no lah, mohawk doesnt work on mine. cant stand up 1.

You have the "in-betweeies!" ;-)
(That's when is 'too long--too short' at same time.)
Soon you will LOVE your hair, because mid-length is the best of both worlds. I say go there, and then decide. Whatever the lengths, the condition is the most important thing...as you know :-)

I have never seen your pic, so I can't comment on whether long or short is more suitable for your image.

But my wife likes to keep her hair short as it's more easily manageable, especially in the hot season.

mensa - frankly, i look downright hideous with medium length hair

arkane - ah hah, i'm not falling for that trap, lol
