Nasi Lemak for Breakfast

Food is getting more expensive by the day. Especially hawkers, who have been happily taking advantage of the previous gas price hike. Tho gas price has come down, no one seems to want to lower their prices as CNY is just round the corner. A plate of Chee Cheong Fun with mushroom and minced pork topping costs Rm3.80 at the coffee shop we went to this morning. Hubby noticed a nasi lemak stall at the entrance and decided to give it a try.

This plate of nasi lemak with a generous helping of peanuts, anchovies, cucumbers, sambal and curry lemongrass gravy, and half a hardboiled egg costs Rm2.50 (Chee Cheong Fun with harmai bits topped with soy sauce and oil is going for Rm2.60, wtf!). Add Rm1.60 for my Cham, my breakfast costs Rm4.10. Hubby had the same. Kid wanted chicken rice. It's Rm3.50 a plate and 40c for a glass of warm water. Can't help but to be frugal when dining out these days....
