Who buys fine lingerie during Chinese New Year?

Each year without fail, my sister is sure to buy new red lingerie on the second day of Chinese New Year. She says it's family tradition, lol. Definitely not mine, k. But why buy on the second day, huh. She only buys panties. It's pronounced as "Dai fu" in Cantonese, and they claim it means "bring wealth". I cant write Chinese characters, so cannot put the exact sentence here. But it means that to them. I dont buy this crappy nonsense. But dont mind buying some fine lingerie though. And no, i dont have to wait till the second day of Chinese New Year to buy fine lingerie. I buy them all year round.
