My brand new Epson Printer

My two year old Epson C63 printer conked out some time back. Stupid printhead was clogged and silly me went and send it for servicing. Cost me Rm60 and a batch of brand new ink. It was fine when i brought it back and did a test print on it. Ink level also down to less than 20% remaining. But by the time i wanted to print out some serious documents, niamahfulat..... kaput again. I swear!!!! I'll never ever send another printer for servicing.

So, yesterday, i went down to Jaya Jusco to get a new one. Unfortunately, the outlet i went to does not carry Epson at all, only Hp. The salesman there told me if i prefer Epson, then i'll have to buy it at the PC Fair at Stadium Indera Mulia the next day, which is today. I only like Epson printers as they deliver stunning printouts and their inks doesnt smear when it comes in contact with water. My very first printer was an Epson and i never regretted my choice. My second was a Canon.... lousy one. My second Epson went kaput. And now, i've bought my third Epson.

Since my scanner refuse to communicate with my new pc, i bought a 3 in 1 this time. It has scan, copy and print function. The model i bought just now is Epson Stylus CX4700, a relatively new model in their range of AIOs. And surprisingly, the person who served me was the same one i bought my first pc 9yrs back when i was living in KL, and the outlet he's at was the same one i bought my second Epson from also. What a coincidence.

He was also very surprised at seeing me and even remembered my profession back then. Ahhhh, how nice. I've bought many things from him before back in KL. He's down from KL for this fair. And as he's with Epson now, i got dealer's price, wheeeee. Arent i just lucky today, and i got some freebies too. 30 pieces of Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Chicken Little pencil case and an additional box of pencils too.

I've always wanted to buy some photo frames back to frame up some of Gordon's pics and family pics. And there are some really nice ones from Russ and Memory Lane. Now i can go buy a few back whenever i see any i fancy. The space left void by my ex-printer will look good with a couple of pictures. I did a document test print just now and it's very quiet. I'll do some color printouts later. Till then..... muackkss!!

I had an Epson Stylus too about 10 years ago. It gives nice colour printouts but is very very very slow and very very loud. After leaving it in "cold storage" for a few years, it just died and could no longer be used (printhead problems). I don't have any printers at home now, but if I were to get one, I'd go for HP.

That's the problem with inkjets. Cannot leave them idle for long periods of time. Have to do a printout at least once a week. The old Epsons are noisy. The one i bought is very quiet and speedy. Importantly, wont smudge and smear, and must have indivitual ink tanks. More savings in the long run.

My current Epson CX3100 3-in-1 is getting sick. Can't get the print heads to align (so can't print a perfectly straight vertical line!), and sometimes random lines are printed. Also, it usually gives a "Scanner Error" and have to restart. It's only 2 years old or so..
