I want new ceiling fans

As Chinese New Year is drawing near, i offered to changed all the ceiling fans around the house to those with lighting at the base of the fan. They look good and serves dual purpose, dont you think so? My MIL doesnt seem too pleased with my suggestion though i'm the one footing the bill. I'll give it two weeks. If by then she's still mum over the issue, i keep my money and buy myself a bigger oven and ice-cream maker.
