Is the rising cost of living bothering you?

My friend was just telling me that even if both she and her husband work, they still find it difficult to support their family based on their current salary scale. Couple that with the rising cost of living, they are now contemplating moving to a small apartment and selling off one car. She's already very lucky that her mother is willing to help care for her two young children. She dare not think what will happen otherwise. She says she wont ever get a promotion nor a pay rise unless she's a degree holder. She says she now wants to take up an online course at capella university so that she can qualify for a promotion in two years time.
