Are crystals considered jewelry?

My sister was arguing with me over the phone just now that crystals are jewelry. I said no, she insisted it's a yes. So, can anyone tell me here what you call those crystal necklaces and bracelets? Fashion accessories, right. They dont have a resale value like gold or diamonds, so how can you call them jewelry, right. Anyway, i dont have many crystal accessories (yes, they are accessories to me :P). Only a pink bracelet and a white pendant. Who likes crystals here. Now, just dont me started on their healing properties, k. I know them all.
