MerchantOS - retail software

A close friend of mine owns a few shops selling car accessories. He also travels all the time as all his shops are at different states. He has been complaining that it's difficult managing so many stores without a proper inventory system to keep track of his stocks. He still uses the traditional cash register and records everything in an old book. Should he loses that book, i think he'd surely freak out.

What he should do is have a point of sale software, like MerchantOS, to help him run his business more effeciently. With only a computer and an internet connection, he can monitor all his shops at once even though he's travelling. With intelligent nventory management, he’ll know when to order and how much to order, thus reducing lost sales and overstock. I'm sure with software like this, his business will run more efficiently than before.
