And this is what i bought the other day. A seat belt adjuster for kids. Gordon usually sits in the middle. He's given up his car seat to Malcolm two years ago. Of course, he uses the seat belt whenever we go out. For as long as i can remember, i've always sat at the back of the car with them since Gordon was born. This is for safety reasons. And i will not compromise their safety for comfort nor convenience.
I cannot stand parents letting their kids stand and climb all over the car when they are driving. Or worse, seated in front with one member of the family. If you are the guilty parent, you may want to buckle up and listen. It's either they sit quietly in the car, strapped in properly or no gaigai at all. So, no matter how old your kids may be, PUT THE SEAT BELT ON. It's a matter of training them since young, but never too late to start. Psssttt... a cane in the car helps with the training process.
For kids younger than 5 years old, use a carseat at all times. If they've outgrown the carseat, then buy them a booster seat, or use a seat belt adjuster for kids like what you see here. You need either item to prevent the seat belt from slicing their throat in the event of an emergency brake. Dont play-play. Hubby's relative, an adult, died this way. As the car's seat belt is right next to your child's neck due to his lack of height, it can really do more harm than good if you are not careful.
