Reminder: Rear seatbelt ruling in effect
We're at the traffic lights waiting for it to turn green. The driver of the Wira right in front of us must have stepped on the accelerator accidentally and banged into the Vios. We fast fast swerved out and i saw the right rear bumper of the Vios "lipp jorr". No one's injured. Everyone got down from their car to inspect the damages involved.
Nah, just go imagine you're the owner of the Vios, and you have a car full of kids sitting at the back. And you forgot to make sure they are safely buckled up. Maybe you were in a rush. You got hit from the rear by a heavier vehicle like a lorry or trailer real hard and i dont think i need to paint an uglier scenario of your kid smashing through the front windscreen, hoh.
So, remember that the rear seat belt ruling is already in effect since 1st Jan 2009. It's for your own good. I know it's not easy to make your kids sit quietly buckled up at the back. But dont let one single accident make you regret your action. For me, the car's not moving unless they sit still buckled up. Non-negotiable.
Invest in a good carseat if you have babies or young children traveling with you everyday. For bigger kids above 4 years of age, a booster seat or seatbelt adjuster for kids will ensure they are safely and comfortably buckled up at the back. Be a responsible parent. Have a safe trip back to the big city this Chinese New Year.
