Terrible Two

Malcolm is everything you can imagine as far as the term "Terrible Two" is concerned. He's demanding, he's fierce, he's a real cry-baby, he's strong, he's whiny, he's just EVERYTHING all rolled into one tiny featherweight package. A real handful at the malls. Yesterday, i took both kids to Tesco. It's nearby my mom's place as i wanted to drop by her house later on. As it's a weekend, and the place is still fairly new (Official opening on 18th Sept), it's jam-packed with shoppers. I only wanted to have a meal there. It rained shortly after we arrived and we were kinda stuck there for quite a while after our meal.

There's grocery shopping to do and we went back inside Tesco. Walked past the toys section and all hell broke loose. Malcolm insist on us opening up a toy fire engine for him to "inspect". It's secured to the boxed and there's no way we can remove it. I'm very particular about branding when it comes to buying toys for Malcolm. That lil fler has a bad temper and will throw his toys hard onto the floor. I will never buy toys made of cheap plastic for Malcolm. They break far too easily. And since i cant check the quality of the fire engine's plastic, i'm so not buying it for him.

And that's when all the hullabaloo started. OMG.... everybody was looking at us like we're some kinda alien who've just invaded earth. It was pouring outside and Malcolm's wailing can be heard though the sound of the rain on the metal roofing can be heard. Nope, we're not giving in to him at all. If i cant gauge the quality of the toy he wants, he's not getting it. Tesco doesnt carry the few brands that i usually buy for him. There is a reason why companies spend so much on Branding. I dont have to doubt what i buy. And no, we didnt make it to my mom's place. Went straight home.
