Show house viewing

We're out of Mooncakes. My kids cant seem to get enough of Mooncakes each day. What to do? Go buy more for them. We bought them Overseas Mooncakes last week. Today, we bought Tai Thong Mooncakes from Jusco.

With over an hour to kill before picking up Gordon, hubby suggested we go view some show houses. Drove all the way to Bandar Baru Sri Klebang. Some new township before reaching Chemor. The first house we went to has a land size of 100 x 100ft (80 x 90 being the standard size), and a built up of almost 4000sf. I like the fact that the main entrance is well away from the road.

The interior designer in me stirred. The size provides a lot of future expansion possibilities. As with any show house, their role is to SELL SELL SELL and nothing but SELL. Who wouldnt be mesmerized with the heavily decorated and extensively furnished interiors, huh. But my well-trained eyes have stripped it naked even before i entered the premise.

In all fairness, the interior designers have done quite a good job in providing future buyers the potential of its layout. With 5 + 1 + 1 rooms (???), it should be just cosy enough for my family of four. I would have preferred one with 7 large bedroom unit though. Dont ask why, 7 might just be my lucky number, lol.

It's only setback to me is the location. The place has not much to offer. Being one that doesnt like to drive, a trip to the nearest shopping complex is a good 12km away. Plus another 6 to 8km or so to send Gordon to his school when he starts Std 1. I guess i'll be spending more time on the road each day than inside the house, knn. Not to mention the cost of ever rising fuel prices, car prices and interest rates.

Another thing is, for the blogger and gadget freak in me, how can i ever live in a place without 3g. I'm already deprived of it where i'm staying, though i do get it every now and then. If i were to be downgraded from EDGE (what i'm getting now) to GPRS, i'll be damned. Dunno got Streamyx or not also. See how paranoid i can get. The thought of not having internet connection is enough to qualify me a room at Tg Rambutan.

A house this size does require a lot of maintenance and will also incur high monthly expenses. With the recent increase in electrical tariffs, i really wonder if 800 bucks is enough to cover just this bill alone each month. As i'm the kind that doesnt fancy doing housework, i guess having a live-in maid is inevitable. Oh, the price? Only Rm608,800k for the standard lot. Not bad.
