I heard my friend complaining just now that he pays so much to a search engine optimization company only to find out that it's not getting any good result at all. When he did a search for his own company, he landed on one of my sites instead. I wrote about his company once and i also received 1st placement in the search result. I can imagine his disappointment.
To me, that's organic traffic. But to him, that's loss of revenue. When potential customers search for his company and do not end up on his, he runs the risk of losing a sale. To make matters worse, he's signed a contract with the company and he will not get back his money if he terminates that contract prematurely.
So, he's been paying a flat rate, month after month, regardless of his search engine rankings. he feel very cheated. He thinks they could be asleep at the wheel, letting his rankings slide, and he still has to keep signing those checks. And that doesn't make sense to him at all.
I told him to cut his loses and sign up with etrafficjams.com instead. Their pay-for-performance organic SEO service means they only get paid for the Top 10 search engine rankings they achieve for him in the Three (3) search engines that matter most: Google, Yahoo! and MSN. All he's responsible for is an easy-to-afford initial set-up fee and the monthly performance-based charge.
If they don't perform, that month is free. Fair enough? Their optimization plans benefit his business because he only pays for solid, verifiable organic search engine placement for keywords that generate targeted search engine traffic.
