osComemrce templates
Now that our company's website is up and running, i can now focus on other more important things in my life. The programmer has completed his work on time. Everything is running smoothly; so far so good. No glitches, nothing. But the one and only thing that i dont like about it is that the site only works in IE; not any other browsers like Firefox, Safari, Netscape or Opera.
Now, my boss wants something else. He wants us to change to a new template whereby we can have a shopfront and with a separate blog section for our members access. No way are we going to hire another programmer to do it. That'll take ages to finish, and he might not even like it at the end, knowing him.
In the end, we decided to just sign up for a three month membership with The osCommerce Cafe. It's the largest osCommerce template membership site on the internet. As member, we have full access to all their templates. We can then download as many templates as we please and let our boss decide which one he feels is the best one for his company. I'm sure he'll be able to find one from out of the 70 that they have right now.
The osCommerce Cafe was set-up by Myles O'Reilly in March 2006. He is also the author of the popular book (The Programmers' Guide to osCommerce). The site is targeted towards web designers who need to be able to access multiple high quality designs without having to spend a fortune paying for each template individually.
I've check elsewhere for template downloads. And do you know that some websites charge as much as $150 per template. If i were to tryout 10 templates, it's going to cost the company $1500. At $89 for a three month membership, we can download to our hearts content. What a huge difference. Not to mention the amount of money and time saved. Let's just hope my boss decide faster so that we can get on with work.
