Will Ben take a loan to renovate his house?

My friend, Ben, wants to renovate his house. His son is coming home for good after spending many years abroad and he wants to do up the place a little. Maybe add an extra room as he's bringing his kids back with him also. Ben doesnt want to withdraw money from his savings to do the renovation. So, he's thinking of getting a loan.
