A bit more on coffee

This may come as good news to people who hardly drink coffee; like me. Yeah, right. Coffee's gotten a lot of bad press, but coffee in small amounts can help give you a welcome jolt. Hows that for a start?

It's welcoming aroma (think Coffee Bean, Starbucks, Kopitiam...) and its caffeine content might be just what you need to perk up that lousy afternoon. The caffeine blocks a chemical called adenosine that interferes with ebergy-boosting neurotransmitters. So, having a cup can make you more productive.

Just dont drink more than three cups a day, k. And drink more water after that as coffee can act as a diuretic.

my opinion.. so don't blast me for saying it!

i don't agree that coffee should be drunk at all. it's really just a legalised drug, like alcohol. culturally we are so addicted to it, we let it disguise itself as a relatively safe thing to drink- but really it is a toxin and should be avoided.

i've seen way too many people "dependent" on coffee and also the lasting and contributing deleterious effects coffee has on both healthy and ailing people.

if you can, try finding soething else to perk you up.. like meditation, yoga or changing your diet.

may - i like the aroma too. but to drink it, small cup neverminds lah. gives me the jitters.

goingrawr - thx for ur opinion. i'm not much of a coffee drinker myself. but, like everything else, if done in moderation, no harm lah. not everyone is like us, can stay away from coffee, meditate, and live on vegetables anmd fruits oni.
