How many times must i remind you NOT to call me on the house phone?
Because they say it's much cheaper calling me from a landline a.k.a their house phone. Blardy cheapos. What kinda stupid answer is that? They cannot drill it into their thick skull despite many reminders that they can only call me at the house phone when all attempts to reach me fail; handphone, MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk, email, etc. And only if you just have to reach me urgently and cannot wait.
When i dont pick up my handphone it simply means,
1) I'm sleeping and do not wish to be disturbed.
2) It's most likely under the pillow/comforter/bolster, and i cant hear it.
3) I'm having sex.
4) I'm doing some household chores like hanging/bringing in the laundry mopping the floor or washing the dishes.
5) I'm peeing/pooing/bathing.
6) I'm strictly in DND mode, geddit.
I never pick up the house phone unless i'm expecting a fax and normally, the person who is faxing will call beforehand. If you call me at the house phone, my in-laws will pick it up and they will call me. I'll then have to walk out of my room to get to the phone.
Scenario 1:
CB friend: Hey, Samm.
Me: Yes.
CB friend: Why you never reply my sms or answer my phone when i called you just now?
Me: Sleeping mah.... anything?
CB friend: Aiyo, sleeping ah. Sorry ah..... nothing lah. Talk to you again some other time lah. *click*
Me: @#$%^&*()_)(*&^%$#@@#$%^&*()(*&^%
Scenario 2.
CB friend: Wei, why never pick up handphone just now?
Me: Didnt hear it ring mah.
CB friend: Can talk now or not?
Me: Can.
CB friend: Ok, i call your handphone now.... *click*
Me: !@#$_)(#$%^&*()_)(*&^%%^&*()_
Gimme a break lah, people. This household sleeps at VERY VERY odd hours. This isnt your regular 9 - 5 kinda household. My in-laws dont know who's calling. For all they know, it might be my bankers who cant reach me via my handphone. And 90% of the time, it usually is.... and you are NOT MY BANKER.
So, next time, be considerate and call me on the house phone only when it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I will definitely return your call when i see a missed call registered on my phone. Or maybe i should just return your call by calling your house number at 3am like scenario 1.

Good one. I got an aunt who refuse to use mobile phone. Her reason being was, if we cant get her at home or office, means that she is NOT FREE and no need be contacted anymore. hahah
