Today's gonna be a really busy day for me

Gordon woke me up with a big slap on the face at 9.22am this morning. My lil boy is having a cough and runny nose, so, i guess his throat must be dry and hurting him and this is the ultimate guaranteed way of getting my attention pronto. So, i got up, made him some milk and gave him some King-To-Nin-Jiom Peipako to soothe his throat and cough.

My neck hurts damn bad. Must be due to sleeping posture, knn. Sent hubby off to his friend's office as he has to attend a meeting in KL this evening with them. I went straight to my mom's house after that. Had lunch and just got back a while ago. As soon as we entered the bedroom, Gordon began to yank the comforter off the bed and onto the floor. He loves sleeping "on" the comforter, be it on the floor or in bed.

Gordon sleeping on the comforter

I made a batch of fresh yogurt last night before i went to bed. I threw out a few bottles of expired leong-cha and that gave me some space to place the yogurt container. It's strawberry flavoured. But then, with my che-kai phone camera, you cant see much of the color. Hubby took my camera down to KL with him.

Homemade yogurt

Yogurt is the nearest thing to ice-cream that i can make at home. I'll be eating tons of this throughout my pregnancy as this is the yummiest and most readily available natural source of calcium that i can safely take without gaining much weight. I dont want to be struck down by osteoporosis owing to rapid calcium loss during pregnancy as my growing baby will need a whole lot of it during its developmental stage.

The active live culture present in the yogurt will also help with my slow digestion and ease my sluggish bowel. Instructions on how to make this is over here.

Hansell's Yog-it

This is what i'm using for my first batch of yogurt. It'll be plain from the next batch onwards. All mommies out there, try making this at home for your children instead of buying ice-cream from the supermarket. It's great for their health. Gordon loves eating this with mango and papaya very much. Good eating habit starts from young.

I'm supposed to go to my Obs for fetal heartbeat scanning this evening at 4pm. Since hubby's not around, i'm also lazy to drive all the way to Fair Park. Morever, today's schedule is somewhat crazy. I just called up to change my appointment to next Thursday and left a message for the doctor to call me should he needs to see me urgently which i doubt also lah.

I cant go anywhere today as i've to wait for the Pos Laju van to deliver some goods over. Most of them are Paul Penders skincare and nutritional supplements for my customers. We did a lot of packing last night as some goods from the USA arrived very late last night and customers will be coming over to my house to collect them this evening. So, i'll be stuck at home for the whole night.

Now, when's that stupid van gonna come....

king's wife - can get anywhere one lah. retails at rm12.50/pkt but they give about 10% discount. remember to buy the maker also. i think at Rm50 and comes with 2 yogurt containers. 1 pkt makes 1 ltr /container. i use that as starter, then leave bout 2 tbsp for the next batch using 1 ltr packs of dutch lady full cream milk. with kids, use full cream. if you dont like it, make a second batch using skim milk. but skim milk versions very runny ah.

Gordon is really in deep slumber!! lol

I saw those pkt of yogurt before but dun have the slightest idea how to make them!! Thanks to you, I think I might buy the yogurt maker and start making them myself. BTW, in the long run, is it cheaper to make than to buy those ready made yogurt?? 1 cup of those ready made yogurt cost RM1.40 right??

Dont worry about the price. Not that ex$ in the long run. Fresh yogurt ensures that all the good bacteria is alive and active. That's actually what we want from yogurt apart from calcium and other nutrition. Frankly speaking, i hardly take the supermarket type as most of the culture's dead.

Tip: Buy the starter, make the 1st batch. Eat and always leave some for following batches. They may be plain thereafter, but u can always add ur own flavoring like honey, fruits and nuts. Buy another pack of starter when u get bored of the plain version.

Huh, how come I left you a comment earlier, but it didn't appear here.

I wanted to say how come Gordon's hair so long.

And do you need to use these yogurt mix to make yogurt because I heard you can just use culture from a good tub of yogurt to make.

I'll probably have to do mine soon, because Zara loves yogurt and I'd been buying her Petite Miam which is quite expensive.

Zara's mama - i havent cut gordon's hair since he went botak at 3mths. It's all the way down his back now and curly at the ends some more. I take him to the salon for a trim at the front and sides every now and then if not he'll look like ah kua. He doesnt like people to touch/cut his hair at all. Doesnt even let me tie/pleat it.

1) You buy the yo-git maker at Rm50
2) You buy a packet or 2 of the yogit culture at Rm12.50/pkt. Buy the whole milk version. See image in post.
3) Make according to instructions.
4) Leave some for the next batch if you intend to use those tetra packs full cream milk, which is what i do (i use 1ltr packs of Dutch lady full cream milk). But then, that'll be plain thereafter. Use honey/fruits/whatever to flavor it.
5) I use GNC's organic beet/bilberry crystal for flavoring. Very good and lasts a long time. Zara will be getting red cheeks soon after taking beet. Bilberry good for her eyes.
6) When Zara's sian with the plain version, use another new yogit pack.

As for the comment thingy, happens sometimes. The same happened to me at king's wife's blog.
