Having a flu is really no fun at all....

I'm on the way to recovery and also well enough to actually feel like getting some sun today. It's encouraging to actually see so many people whom i've not met before leave get-well-soon messages for me. Most of my friends (except those few who read my blog) dont even know that i'm half dead. Flu recovery is a long process and i think will take another week. I started getting low grade fever on Saturday evening and it progress throughout all of Sunday, with aching bones and joints, sore throat, blocked nose, some sneezing and a cough that rips your lungs out.

Naw, i didnt catch it from wearing Nike Bra tops. Gordon caught a cold when i asked hubby to bathe him last week. And him, being the filial son, share it with the both of us. Papa cant seem to understand that his preferred water temperature may not be Gordon's ideal bathing temperature and that if you turn the shower head on at full strength, the water will not heat up quick enough. So, Gordon almost always catches a cold whenever hubby bathes him unless i stand at the bathroom door giving out detailed instructions on "How-to-give-Gordon-a-bath-without-him-catching-a-cold". That really makes me sound like a controlling freak and a naggy housewife.

I'd get frantic whenever Gordon runs a temperature. We all live in a heavily mosquitoes-infested zone. And just the other day, i heard from mil that 4 persons in our area had been admitted to the hospital for dengue fever recently. I was praying hard that none of us got it. That's why i dress Gordon in those long pants with holes and keep him in the room most of the time as preventive measures. You will have to come stay in my house to understand what i'm talking about when it comes to mosquitoes. I'm quite an expert when it comes to smacking them in mid-flight.

Here are some pictures of Gordon which i intended to put up earlier but procrastinated till now. Excusable mah, sick woh....

This first of 3 was taken on the 8th of December 2005. Out of a sudden, Gordon doesnt like this coffee-shop and kept his eyes shut tightly even before we step foot into the shop, even when we put him into the highchair. But then, i had chee-cheong-fun attack that particular morning and this shop is the nearest to my place that sells it.

Actually, he doesnt like this aunty who sells wanton noodle at the shop. She'd get very yuk-gan (cant seem to think of the appropriate adjective, enlighten me, someone), plays with him roughly and that makes Gordon all worked up and agitated. That's why he refuse to open his eyes as a sign of displeasure/silent protest towards the place and the people he dislike.

He actually kept his eyes closed throughout the entire time that we were having breakfast there. He ate with eyes closed, drank with his eyes closed and even asked to leave with his eyes still closed. That cheeky lil fler opened his eyes as soon as we exit the shop and giggled all the way to the car. Now, i've to find another place to go for chee-cheong-fun.

This was taken on the 10th of December 2005, the day i fell sick. It was morning and i felt like having some breakfast of porridge and beehoon. This picture was taken because some of you are too lazy to go read my archives where there are so many picture of Gordon. So, this is for those of you. I asked Gordon to give me his best smile, and here it is. Eyes half disappeared, nose all bunched up amd with a smug look on his face. But not bad lah, hoh.

This was taken yesterday. For those who saw that picture i took of him sleeping on the comforter and commented on the length of his hair, this is the real length. Doesnt it resembles some royalty's profile pic we all know, hehe. Gordon has my curly hair. I've not cut Gordon's hair since he's 3mths old and i'm gonna keep it long till he's 6yrs old and then cut it and frame it up. His front and sides are getting pretty long now as you can see in the above pic, have to take him for a trim soon. He hates that place and will scream for as long as he's in the chair. He'll cling to me and sometimes i'm afraid that the hairdresser might cut my hair too. But then, she's a professional with kiddie's haircut and does a fairly quick job.

Ok, that's it for the time being. Till i find time to blog some more. You know, i actually look forward to doing the laundry and vacuuming the bedroom today. And it's time i wash my hair too. Havent washed it for 5 days, thank god it's short.

aiyo.. suck long hair. If only Zara has it.

Do people ask you if he's a girl? I think because of Zara's hair, lots of people are asking me how old is my son.. :|

Glad you are well again!

zara's mama - dun worry lah, it'll surely grow. then she'll keep running to you to tie her hair up like this, like this and like that. and yes, those who dun know me will refer to Gordon as a girl and those who know me keeps forgetting that he's a boy. well, i just tell them Gordon's a boys' name and that's it.

chenyeng87 - eh, i'm immune to that ledi lah.

glad that you're alright now, well, at least getting better. between, you do have a charming son, it is unavoidable to attract so many 'passionate' fans (yok gan right?), just hope that they won't overdo it and become aggresive about it. haha.

with your strong immunity i bet you'll get recovered real soon!

Good to see the spirit up well & strong again. Cute son! Must be the genes. Hair reminds me of Chris Waddle (ex Spurs footballer 80s) though ;-)
