Breakfast at Oldtown Kopitiam

Hubby's girlfriend called up yesterday morning to inform him that she's sick and needed some pampering. I was still in bed and overheard the phone conversation and suggested we have breakfast together at Oldtown Kopitiam.

Oldtown Kopitiam

If Monday's bread with margarine and sugar was sinful, i really dont know what to think of yesterday's breakfast. I had toast attack. Had that a couple of days ago and Gordon liked it too. So, i hurriedly brushed my teeth and got dressed. I did not make milk for Gordon yesterday morning. He can eat all he wants at Kopitiam.

Yawwwwnnn.... why nobody here one, mom??

Ma, this smile nice or not?

We arrived first and ordered our food. I ordered Hot Chocolate, Toast with Egg and Peanut Butter and 2 Half-boiled Eggs. I swear i didnt know there's peanut butter in my toast. If i knew, i wouldnt have touched that thing. I really dont fancy peanut butter like that, too dry. Hubby had Xi-mut Iced Tea, Polo Bun and 2 Half-boiled Eggs also.

My toast and Hot Chocolate, Papa's Xi-mut Iced Tea and Polo Bun ( Half-boiled Eggs arrived much later)

We were nearly done when hubby's girlfriend arrived. So, we got her a bowl of Noodle with Egg , Vegetables and Luncheon Meat. She wasnt feeling very well and drank warm water. The food's okay but the atmosphere there is of course cosier and more comfortable than the usual noisy coffeeshop.

Noodle with Egg, Vegetables and Luncheon meat

I had Curry Chicken Noodle there the last time i went and it's too salty for my liking. Havent had their Nasi Lemak before but will try it out the next time i go there. Papa had a meeting to attend and left right after breakfast. I went shopping at Parkson with his girlfriend.

Gordon, of course is the happiest boy on earth. Get to have breakfast in a nice place and shopping some more. We couldnt be bothered to find a parking space and left the car at the Carwash for a polishing job for RM58 instead. I dont have the stroller with me so i rented one of those Little Tikes pushcar for Gordon. If not, he'll be running around the place and i'd be chasing him like a mad woman.

At Blay whilst i try on some shoes

Mom, see...see... i can drive now!!

Walked around the place for a few hours and ended up having more food at Sushi King. I had Tempura Soba whilst Gordon had Sushi, some of my noodle and Chawan Mushi. Papa's girlfriend had Salmon Steak set with Chawan Mushi and Miso Soup. By the time we got back home, it's already way past 3.30pm.

For reasons known only to Blogger, i cant seem to upload my photos yesterday. So, this was supposed to be yesterday's post...

Waaa, I wanted to go to Old Kopitiam when I was 'Visiting' my Lawyer at #1, along that Jln.. Tun Sambantham?.. But either it wasn't fully opened yet for business (in September 05), or I didn't have anyone to go with..(most probably the reason). But definitely next trip, guaranteed! :-)

BTW, isn't Luncheon meat the same as Spam? Anyone confirm?

Samm said...

Eh, this one i cant answer. Luncheon Meat = Spam??? WTF??? Next time, i meet u there, k.

Hubby's gf? Hope we'll get to hear about your bf soon... lol

I've been to the Old Town Kopitiam and sorry, I simply do not like their food and slow service. Yep, the atmosphere is great... especially at night, overlooking the Ipoh Club Padang and the ever romantic FMS building. Other than that, I simply cannot identify with their menu!! lol

Samm, you're not related to the boss hor?? I dun want to get slapped with lawsuit bad mouthing them like that!! LOL Seriously, they call the peanut butter toast HK toast... WTF? Do Honkies really have that for breakfast?? Any Honkies care to confirm? Yuck!! Just imagine toast with heavy slab of butter and peanut butter!!

Gordon is definitely having a blast in Parkson!! LOL Nice Pics!

L b - ok then

helen - their service really sucks with the waitresses hanfing around and doing practically nothing. We had to ask thrice for chillipadi b4 it got to us, nearly screamed at them. I just called my bf in hongkong and he says that hongkies don take peanut butter for breakfast one, hahaha.

Hey.. the food looks yummy in Old Town Kopitiam. They have this in KL too, is this an Ipoh francise or what?

Btw, you are pregnant, you may want to cut down on half boiled egg, everything should be fully cooked. Just so not to give a chance to salmonella bacteria.

I loved half boiled and semi cooked egg yolk, for the whole duration of Zara's pregnancy, I totally avoid them. You can imagine how many eggs I hantam during confinement just to compensate :P
