The search for a domestic helper is over for me, YEAH!!

Day 38

I informed MIL last night that i've found a local chinese helper for her, recommended by my dear sis. She cleaned her house before her indon maid arrived and does a fairly good job. But then, MIL doesnt want a chinese, too kaypoh by nature for her liking woh. Told me that she'd rather use a malay lady, but keeps rejecting each that came by stating too old, too fat, too this, too that.... Well, i told her i dont have anymore in mind and told her to get the one recommended by her daughter instead. End of topic.

Myself, i've been rather short-tempered lately. I really have no idea why. I find myself reaching out for the cane far too many times in a day. No, i dont whack Gordon with that, just to show him how much pain that can inflict and hopefully, he'll get the message. I caned him on his foot once and he knows it. But, kids, they forget fast. The moment i turned my back, he's up on my table and onto the 5-tiered plastic drawers, playing with the electrical switches again.

The house has no space for him to play. He's literally locked up in one room with me the whole day. I've moved furniture around so many times that i've no more space to move the drawer away to this time. All he wants to do is climb up, up, up and up and play with the unthinkable. I'm really really dead sian with this already. Getting him to take his noon nap is also turning into a chore for me. His toys doesnt interest him anymore. He just throws them around.

Moms with 27mth toddlers, are yours like this too? Right now, i dont even feel like waiting for the new school term to start. I just want to send him off the very next month. I'm just not my usual patient self, really i'm not. I've not been sleeping well too. I hope this is just temporary. Or perhaps i should just pack up and take leave for a while.

I'm so dead tired by the time i managed to put him to bed that this is all i had for late lunch. Hopefully, this will send me off to slumberland after i hit the publish button....

aw that's sad :( sounds like Gordon needs a wide open space to run around and exhaust him. I have friend in HK with kid like that - and their aprtment is TINY so he runs around in circles (literally).

Your MIL is nuts btw. My mum would KILL for a good chinese maid. And they are so few nowadays.

I hope you feel better soon. Come up to KL and leave the rugrat behind for a few days! You can come to the Elephant Concert - I spot you a couple of tickets lor!

I was told women if no regular "service" temper can be very bad one. That's why old virgin all act one kind. Anyway...take it easy la; angry no angry the clock also move one. Why want to be angry when you can choose to be happy ? Philosophycal leh ? LOL

Yes, yes, kids are great...but not all the time. lol It takes great patience and commitment to take care of your own child 24/7....

Maybe you can take Gordon out more often to Polo ground or something... :-) Confining yourself at home can be frustrating...

Glad your domestic help problem is over.Your MIL has finally taken her pick already lar??

PMS? :P
That's part of motherhood right? Ups and Downs.
Sometimes we find them so adorable, sometimes we find them so irritable.
