Panasonic Lumix DMC LX1 Digital Camera
Day 36
I finally regained my appetite after about 4 days of starvation. Papa came back early yesterday evening and made an unexpected announcement after I've just walloped a plate of rice with lots of veggies and some fish with ketchup and onions.
"We're taking Gordon to Parkson"
Ever since our trip to KL way back in September, we havent been anywhere else. Only our usual daily meal outings or grocery shopping. Luckily i washed my hair yesterday, if not, like hell i'm gonna walk out of the house looking like a witch. Gordon's still napping in bed then. It was already 6.30pm, if i remembered right.
So, i hurriedly pulled on a blouse and a pair of jeans, ran a brush through my hair, applied some poudre & lip gloss, trimmed my brows and gave Gordon a fresh change of nappy and clothes. Then, grabbed my camera and bag and was out of the house in less than 15 minutes. Fast eh.
We found a parking space almost immediately upon arrival, lucky us. We entered through Tesco. Apart from promotion counters, Tesco at Parkson really has NOTHING much to offer. Go to the one in Ipoh Garden if you want a more happening Tesco, k. Dont say you werent informed.
Someone told Papa there's a MUST SEE Citroen car on display at Parkson Ground Floor. So, Papa being men, dont know why, all drawn to cars. So, he was headed that way on auto-pilot. Whilst i strolled along slowly glancing at the stores. Cars have never appealed to me unless he's buying me one. Then, got mood. Apart from that, it's boring. boring, boring.
That KNN friend of his is even more outdated than i am when it comes to cars. What caught his friend's interest was the Citroen Xsara Picasso. Cheh, Papa's friend already owned 2 of those long ago. What's so interesting about the Picasa, hah? It's been around for quite a long time already what.
Me, being a blogger, went to one of nearest camera shops to look around. What caught my eye was the latest Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1 8.4Mp Digital Camera with Leica lens. Wow, I like. It's a compact camera with all the features of a DSLR. After my experience with the Ricoh RDC 7's slow start-up and auto-focus and shutter lag, i'm really looking for something compact that i can just point and shoot without much of a hassle and yet delivers stunning picture output at 8R. Panasonic has superb speed and processing performance, but, the final outputs are NOISY PICTURES even at a low ISO 80.
I've searched all over the internet and almost all digital camera review sites says the same thing. If noise is the only issue, i'm sure there are software to address it, right. Are there any proud owners out there? What are your experience like with this particular model?
Now, i found a demo software called Neat Image that reduces the digital noise. It even allows you to save all edited files. Although only in jpeg for this demo version, it's still cool. I downloaded some noisy images here taken with the Panasonic LX1 and tried out the software. It's even more impressive than what Photoshop has to offer in terms of noise reduction. I even used some of my lousy phone camera images and the software also did a very good job with those. Are there any Neat Image users reading this now? Can you tell me more about this software and how do you all find it?

Even though Neat Image can remove the noise, takkan you wanna use neat image to remove noises on every single pics you take?
(assuming the review is correct)
I have Neat Image, but er i dunno how to use it.heh.
The functions of the cam are quite good for a compact cam, just that takda viewfinder (its not that important to some people anyways).
Hmm,why dont you go to a shop n test out the camera, and maybe ask them to print a copy for you to see?
now u know the real reason why hubby wanna go Parkson....to see the car lor.

I've tested the Neat image with good results. u should too, its fairly easy. and yes, i think i shld ask them to do a printout of every model for me when i decide to get one, hehe.
