Every Credit Card Holder's Woe
Thursday evening - 4.30pm. I was having high-tea with hubby & Gordon.
*my phone sang* I answered cheerily.
Me: Samm...
Ammb: Hello, Good evening. This is XXX from Ambank. Is this Ms Yeap?
Me: Yes. What can i do for you?
Ammb: Ah, Ms. Yeap. Is this a convenient time to speak with you?
Me: I'm eating.
Ammb: Oh, in a meeting. Ok, i get my colleague to call you later.
Me: Fine. *hangs up*
Life went on as usual.

Friday morning - 9.30am. I'm was still fast asleep.
*my phone sang again* I answered sleepily.
Me: Samm, morning.....
Ammb: Jau an. Woh se XXX, Ammb da lai. (yadda, yadda, yadda some more in mandarin) Ching wen ni se pu se Ms. Yeap?
Me: Hai, gong gong-fu wah lah... (Yes, speak cantonese lah...)
Ammb: Ngoh giu ngoh tung si ta fan bei lei. Thank you. *hangs up* (I get my colleague to call you back)
Me: Huh? *goes back to sleep*

Today - 9am. Isnt it obvious by now that i'm still sleeping.
*my phone sang again* I answered....
Me: Samm....
Ammb: Selamat pagi. Saya XXX menalifon dari Ammb. Ini Cik Yeap ke...
Me: Ya, boleh cakap Inggeris ke? (Yes, can speak English or not?)
Ammb: Err, saya panggil colleague saya menalifon awak nanti. Thank you ya. *hangs up*

Any idea what they want? They're seldom that dilligent calling u everyday. I'm usually wary when banks call. :-)
BTW, is Ambank your bank? If it is, better call to make sure if they have anything important to say. Bank don't play play ...lol
Apart from trying to sell me more insurance and investment programmes, they're usually not this dilligent. Moreover, they're calling from a Private Number which indicates that my 2 former guesses are very true. I only use their card, nothing to do with banking. maybe i'll call up just to check on my balance and see how. Thx.
Hey...be wary not to give out any of your bank details over the phone. Too many scams and frauds nowadays.
Are you sure that its not a restless high school kid who has nothing to do and pranked you up to 'practice' his/her language?
