Would you pay RM8k for permanent hair removal??
Why not just give me the money instead?
I got a flyer in my snail mailbox today. And the thing that caught my eye before i threw it away was the price tag for permanent hair removal. Normally priced at Rm8k. Even with the one-time 80% discount offered, the price still stands at Rm1600/session. Moreover, many sessions are required before its PERMANENTLY removed.
What's wrong with using the razor? Ok, ok... it does a great job of removing all my unwanted hair. Tho nicks and cuts are the norm, almost an everyday routine for some, and hair regrowth is coarser. But still, it's the cheapest and fastest form of hair removal conveniently available virtually everywhere. I still keep one of this in the bathroom together with a big box of replacement blades and aloe gel in case of emergency.
Waxing and depilatory creams or gels just dont appeal to me. Too messy and alot of cleaning up to do.
The tweezer is a great grooming item to have in the handbag or bedroom whenever unsightly hair decides to peek out out of the blue.
I've been epilating with the epilady for more than 10 years. Yes. You heard me right. I epilate. Epilady happens to be the world's first epilators. And the most expensive ones cost around Rm200. Just because it's cordless and comes with built-in rechargeable batteries.
The first generation types employs rotating coils of wires to do the job. Quite a ritual masochistic indulgence on my part. I've since changed to a newer version that uses rotating discs to yank those hairs out. And it also has a additional smaller head for those more "delicate" areas.
Epilating has its advantages too because after epilating continuosly for several years, hair seems to give up regrowing and become sparser. But then again, its a rather time consuming affair, painful for most and quite noisy. And unless you religiously scrub yourself with a loofah during bathtime, u might end up with ingrown hair under your skin.
So, though the thought of having all my unwanted hair permanently removed for Rm1600 is tempting, i'll still stick with my trusty Panasonic Soie for the time being.
