Try this for dinner tonight

Are you the kind that hoard lots of stuffs in your fridge like packets of tomato and chilli from fast-food restaurants, forgotten wasabi tubes and unfinished mayonnaise and yogurt?

I found quite an amazing stash when MIL spring-cleaned the fridge the other day. I hardly frequent fast-food restaurants, but those pesky SILs of mine likes to buy KFC over for them old folks. That's why i can see like about 20 or more packets of tomato and chilli sauce lying in the fridge.

Wasabi and shoyu packets are mine from sushi king take-away. There's also a few packets of nori (sea-weed) and half a tub of yogurt. Here's what i will do with mine.

I'll cook Japanese Soba Noodles with Yogurt and Wasabi dressing.

Ingredients: Serves 4

1 packet soba noodles
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 packet of shoyu/1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 packet of nori
1 cup plain yogurt
2 packets/teaspoons wasabi paste

Method:

1) Cook soba according to directions on packet, refresh in iced water and drain well. Mix well with the sesame oil and soy sauce. Separate into 4 portions and set aside.

2) Toast the sesame seed and the nori sheets. Cut the nori into shreds. ( For variety, substitute sesame seeds for pine nuts

3) Combine yogurt and wasabi, mix well and drizzle over noodles.

4) Sprinkle the sesame seeds and shredded nori on top and serve immediately.

This is utter vegetarian heaven. For the more carnivorous ones, you can grille some chicken fillet or add some smoked salmon to it.

Enjoy with Green-Tea.
