Gordon's Birthday Lunch
Dearest Gordon,
It was your 2nd birthday yesterday. Papa and Mama took u to Secret Recipe in Greentown for lunch to celebrate. It was still early when we arrived, so, we let you run around the place whilst we chased after you. Cant have you climbing up every chair in sight and straying into the kitchen. You finally figured that running up and down along the linked sofa and stopping occasionally to poke at the lil boy's eyes on the wall's backdrop is sheer fun since we dont have that back home. You were so happy that the entire restaurant can hear your laughter.
See, you refuse to look at Mama when i put u back in the highchair when the food arrived. I know you didnt like it, having to sit in the highchair. But neither of us can eat with you still running around the place, y'know. And i know you are getting hungry too.
Mama ordered lamb stew with mashed potato because you love mashed potato very much, Papa had soba noodles. We also had pumpkin soup and carrot & ginger soup, both your favourite. And there's carrot cinnamon cheese cake and vanilla ice-cream for you too. But you didnt want to eat and put your head on the table facing Papa and closed your eyes throughout mealtime.
Both Papa & Mama went ahead and eat. Well, at least you didnt make a fuss or throw a big tantrum. So, we just let you sulk on the table if that's what you wanted.
You refuse to look at Mama even when Papa carried you around. Look at you, shielding your eyes with that small lil hand of yours, still sulking away on Papa's shoulder.
You were clinging on to me tightly when i carried you back to the sofa. You sat on my lap, with your face tucked into my chest. You only lifted up your head when i spooned ice-cream into your mouth; and dont you just love it. And you were such a good boy and finished your soup and bread too.
You progressed from lap and onto the sofa and wanted me to spoonfeed you that way. It's your birthday, ok lah. Anything to make my lil boy happy again. Little boys should be happy on their birthday.
See how handsome you look smiling again; and enjoying the pampering. Dont you just feel like a king?
And you were laughing away happily when i sang you your Happy Birthday song.
And finally, the cherry. Mmmmmm... yummmmy...
Gordon, Both Papa & Mama love you very much and want you to be happy and healthy always. You bring so much joy to our life and we wont have it any other way.
Happy Birthday, son.

mmmmm Irish Lamb Stew from Secret Recipe is the BEST!! Good choice! now I'm hungry :-p
Lol the place you were sitting on...is the very same place I sat on few months ago when we were celebrating a friend's birthday and we bought all 12 types of cheesecakes available on that day and moved each flavour of cheesecake around the table so that we all could taste it like a kaiten belt. The 6 of us teenagers were damn noisy and the minute we stepped in people were looking at us because we were behaving like little kids with all our noise.
Hehe. Off topic I know. But memories just flooded in from the moment I saw the first picture with your adorable son in it.
lynne - yes, lamb stew is delicious. and i love it very much. their fusion menu not bad too.
cindy - mmm, i love their cheese cakes. So does Gordon.
