An apple a day, keeps the doctor away... or do they?

Frankly speaking, to me, this phrase no longer holds true. The person who coined this obviously lived in a very different era. I dont fancy apples for many reasons:

1) Pesticides laced. Not only externally, but internally also. No amount of scrubbing, soaking or peeling will ever get rid of it completely. Ranks a close second to the Nactarine. Where got? Go check out organic organisation info websites.

2) Dont like that glossy, waxy look. Tastes bleh unpeeled.

3) Hate to peel fruits. Hubby does that for me and he's usually not around when i want to eat them.

4) Their skin keeps getting stuck between my teeth should i ever eat them unpeeled. (but soaked and scrubbed, of course)

And the list can go on and on and on....

Whenever i see my friends or family member buy or make apple juice for their children or babies, i'll tell them to get the organic ones. Ya, ya, ya, more expensive, right. But then again, how much can your lil baby eat? I'm very particular as to what mine eats.

The same goes for pears. A close third to the apple. So, we might as well say, 'An apple a day, visit your doctor everyday.'
